Karin Park, XOV, Sean McGowan & Project Fresh Socks

Karin Park

Born in Djura – a place set in the dark woods of Dalarna, Sweden, with a population of 400, Karin Park released her pop debut in 2004 named ‘Superworldunknown’. Following that, she started collaborating with Datarock’s Fredrik Saroea ‘Ashes To Gold’, an lbum that moved into darker territory – a path she continued to take.

Co-produced and mixed by Christoffer Berg (The Knife/Fever Ray/Little Dragon) into an even darker soundscape. Karin’s new album combines electronica, industrial, dubstep and synth pop with her unmistakeable, truly unique voice.

XOV

Described by MTV as a cross between Lorde, Robyn and The Weeknd, XOV is an independent artist and songwriter from Stockholm, Sweden. In December 2013, he released the “Naked Edition” of his debut EP “Boys Don’t Cry”. With a sound made solely of a synth and his voice, he captured the ears of the music industry.

Sean McGowan

Raised on a diet of The Clash, The Jam, Specials, Billy Bragg and other such politically-charged, punk-ignited British pop, 21 year old Southampton-born troubadour Seán McGowan had been playing up and down the UK for two years, and DIY released two EPs (given away / sold on a “pay what you want” basis at shows), before catching the ears of the music industry at 2013’s Great Escape festival.

Project Fresh Socks

Project Fresh Socks are two Norwegian girls who undertook a mission in 2010 – to become DJs – and they’ve been flying since. They tackled their first gig on NYE 2010/2011 having never touched a deck. Now, two years in, they boast a range of London residencies, several festivals performances, participance in the Red Bull’s Academy’s festival in the London Eye, a sold out Nordic Electronica night at the Roundhouse and a truck load of live gigs under their furry Nordic belts. They are known to fill a dance-floor wherever they go with their house, tech and electro sounds. Endorsing their heritage as they blast the music scene, it’s not rare for them to sneak in an obscure remix from their favorite underground Nordic acts.
