Since forming Leeds in 2009 Submotion Orchestra have carved out their own special place in the UK’s ever-changing musical landscape. The 7 piece band’s fusion of bass heavy electronica, jazz, soul and much more besides has made them a favourite of the likes of Gilles Peterson, Trevor Nelson and Jo Whiley, whilst their live show has seen them play festivals around the world and sell out venues such as London’s famous KOKO.
Having already performed at the Royal Albert Hall, singer songwriter Tom Prior has also supported Katy B, Devlin and Ms Dynamite at London’s prestigious Somerset House. Working hard in the studio with BattleRoy (Bruno Mars/Eminem/Chris Brown) Jony Rockstar (Sugar Babes/Amy Whinehouse) and drummer MckNasty (Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32) 2013 is set to be an incredible year for Tom. With his hard work, determination and natural talent creating a legacy for the artists of the future.
Teenager Henry Green will release his debut EP ‘Slow’ this summer. The young Bristolian has achieved a staggering amount for someone so young. His first break came when he was personally invited by London Grammar guitarist to support the band at their sold out Bristol show at the Anson Rooms. The pair remain friends to this day. From here Henry has gone on to share the stage with the likes of Rosie Lowe, Aquilo and Woman’s Hour. More recently he has supported the Mercury Nominated artist Nick Mulvey on the European leg of his April tour.
Project Fresh Socks are two Norwegian girls who undertook a mission in 2010 – to become DJs – and they’ve been flying since. They tackled their first gig on NYE 2010/2011 having never touched a deck. Now, two years in, they boast a range of London residencies, several festivals performances, participance in the Red Bull’s Academy’s festival in the London Eye, a sold out Nordic Electronica night at the Roundhouse and a truck load of live gigs under their furry Nordic belts. They are known to fill a dance-floor wherever they go with their house, tech and electro sounds. Endorsing their heritage as they blast the music scene, it’s not rare for them to sneak in an obscure remix from their favorite underground Nordic acts.
