Oliver Daldry is a 19 year old singer / songwriter from Suffolk. With a classically trained musical background, Daldry picked up his first guitar at the ago of seven, and his astounding skill is evident in the music and melodies he writes with ease and maturity at an extraordinary rate. Breaking away from the academic musical methods and structures being placed around him, Oliver quickly began entwining his innate musical ability with his passion for song-writing. Oliver’s ability to tell a story in his music, and the incorporation of fast-paced lyrics, give his song-writing an incredibly distinct sound and rhythm. A long list of influences includes Paul Simon and even poet William Blake.
FRANCOBOLLO
Francobollo, hit the shores of the UK from Sweden in 2009. They’ve honed their raucous own brand of infectious grungy pop, slowly picking up a growing legion of dedicated pit-filling Francophiles along the way. Combining dashes of Nirvana, LCD Soundsystem and Pavement, they create a unique cacophony of melody infused guitar-pop with twinges of electronics picking up the energy.
CASINO ROYALE VS SMOKE & MIRRORS
DJs from Camden Barfly’s Saturday night clubs go head to head, with Casino Royale’s Antz In The Jam taking on Smoke & Mirrors’ Rock Hunter for a battle of musical genres, covering everything from indie to pop to electro. Casino Royale has filled both floors of Barfly for over 15 years with Classic Indie upstairs & a different 60s/70s/80s retro theme each time downstairs – and has had guests from the Pixies’ Frank Black to the Mayor Of Camden to play DJ sets. Smoke & Mirrors is surely Camden’s best night out, smashing it on one floor with 90s/00s Indie Hits and packing the other full of 80s/90s/00s Pop, to an always eager crowd.
