KELIS, NABIHA, FRIDA SUNDEMO, 1987 (DJ) & THE LINE OF BEST FIT DJs

KELIS

We are delighted to announce that Kelis will be making a special appearance at the Kopparberg Urban Forest. With two Grammy nominations, Platinum and Gold records, and countless awards to her name, not to mention her latest album ‘Food’ being hailed as a “fabulous and immediate record”, she’s an artist who needs no introduction. Her live performance is the perfect way to kick off the Urban Forest with a bang.

NABIHA

Nabiha’s distinct sound along with her West African roots and her colorful upbringing in Copenhagen has shaped her as a unique female figure in the world of pop and soul. Her latest triumph was the single ‘Never Played the Bass’, which made it to no. 1 on the UK Urban Chart, no. 3 on the UK Club Chart and no. 7 on the UK pop Chart. It also caught the attention of famous blogger Perez Hilton, who has championed both ‘Never played the bass’ and ‘Mind the gap’. The singer has also recently toured with James Morrison, Jason Derulo and Jamie Cullum.

FRIDA SUNDEMO

Frida Sundemo is not from outer space. Didn’t have a broken childhood. Has not wasted all her savings on drugs. Frida is 26 years old and from Gothenburg, Sweden. A beautiful musical force of nature. Frida gives birth to melodies you have never heard before. She is gifted with an airy voice that burrows all the way into your bones. She handles the guitar as if it were a part of her body. Together with her producer Naiv, she has found a new way of creating music. Undefinable pearls of pop; easy to receive, hard to forget and wrapped with love.

1987 (DJ)

1987 is Stockholm’s Victor Holmberg, first known as one half of the production duo Montauk. Most of his time with the new alias has been dedicated to production, with slow-pulsing remixes of Sportsman, Postiljonen and Alice Boman. New track ‘Michelle’ is just his second solo track, with long-tail synths like one big swelling wave that, once it lands in the song’s second half, froths and chops up into a dance track that feels reluctant for anyone to be enjoying life so much as to dance.

THE LINE OF BEST FIT DJs

The Line of Best Fit has made its name as the UK’s top music blog, bringing all the freshest music to the nation’s ears. They’ll be on the decks spinning the tunes to kick the party off – and to end it – in style.
